A day in Dumbo, Brooklyn & some gorgeous views
It has definitely turned visitor season since the end of January. My grandparents paid a visit for a week in late January and basically two days after their departure, my too good friends from high school arrived. It’s so wonderful having friends and family visiting, both because it’s been about 7 months since I moved to New York and haven’t seen anybody in that time (God, I miss them all), but also the fact that while they are here, they want to see everything. We ran around The City whole days, and on Monday we decided to do some sightseeing in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
We got an early start to the day, and enjoyed a breakfast bagel in Dumbo with the gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline. After that we took a little walk around the Brooklyn Bridge Park:

Around 11:39am it was definitely time for coffee, so we made a pit stop at this cute little coffee shop named One Girl Cookies right next to the waterfront. I was dying for a Cortado, and just spiced it up a little with an oatmeal scone. And I tell you, this place made me the best Cortado I have ever tasted. Definitely a recommendation.

The walk is about 1 mile, and shows the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan Bridge and the area of Dumbo, Brooklyn.

[…] One of the bright moments of this week, was when I enjoyed my lunch break with Emma Silke on Thursday. It’s always nice to meet friends for a little bit, before returning to the office. Just getting the mind off work for a little hour. We went to the cutest magazine shop in the West Village followed by a cortado at Grounded on Jane St. What made me the most happy though, was their selection of vegan cookies (for a lactose intolerant person like me, that always a plus).
