New York Apartment Update: Moving Vlog

Hi angels <3

It’s finally time, I’ve edited my Moving Vlog and it’s LIVE. I’m so proud to have finished it, and it’s actually one of the first things I started filming for my YouTube channel. Very nerve-racking, but I’m doing it and I hope you love it.

New York Apartment Update: Our Livingroom

Hi lovelies,

It’s almost the weekend! Just this one workday to go, then it’s time for take-out, bland-selv slik (pick & mix candy), and a Friday movie. Now that Danish X-Factor is over I’m not even sure what to watch anymore, hah!

I was up early this morning, taking Edward’s daughter to school (she has to be there at 7.30AM, which I personally think is a little too early for the  kids, but no one asked me…). Now I’m sat with an Americano and a smoothie bowl, writing this blogpost. I thought it is about time for a peek inside our apartment, since we’ve now lived here for 6 months and are very far in the decor. There’s definitely a long way to go until I’m 100% happy. We want a rug for the sofa area, we would love a bigger glass top for our dining table, I would love to add a lamp with cozier light than we have atm, I want to hang up photos, and I would loooove a brass bar cart. And that’s only the livingroom.

The wooden beer boxes on the above photos I got from a neighbor, who just wanted to throw them out. I immediately saw an opportunity to store my many magazines and books. They’ve been piling up under the coffee table, and Edward has been complaining, so there he go, pretty storage for my bibles. Here you find September issues of Vogue, LOVE magazine, DANSK magazine, Tanya’s Christmas by Tanya Burr, and Capture your Style by Aimee Song. Of course, that also gives me an opportunity to dress them up nicely with my Kay Bojesen Wooden Dog and my Urban Outfitters candle.

Our interior design is a huge mix of Scandinavian minimalism with pieces from Kay Bojesen, Hoptimist, and Ferm Living. And then some more eclectic pieces like the many colored art books from David Hockney, Matisse, and Valentino. And loads of plants (need more).

Can’t wait to finish this room. I love how it’s coming along!

Finishing touches for our living room

Hi guys, how are you all doing? It’s Saturday! Wuhuu (dancing emoji).

I’m somewhat out on the other side from a week of staying in bed sick. I literally hate being sick. I get the most crazy FOMO, I always feel like I have too much to do at work, and I feel guilt for not being at work. I know you should always put health first, but I’m definitely bad at actually taking action on the signs my body is giving me. I wonder if that’s a millennial thing? Or just a human thing?

Anyhow, after being in bed for a hundred years (real time: 6 days) I’m starting to feel like myself again. I’m actually awake, and I somewhat have an appetite again. So Edward and I started brainstorming a bit about our living room and how we want to do the finishing touches in there (I mean, it does get a little boring being in bed for so long). To be honest I’m mostly the one who wants to accessorize our living room space a bit more, but I know Edward would love a cool rug for under the sofa area.  I really want Edward to hang up some book shelfs (that has been starring at us from the floor since Christmas), and I would looooove to buy a big cactus to put next to our TV. So with all this brainstorming, I thought I would start doing some interior inspo blogposts. I always love seeing other blogger’s homes, reading interior magazines, and a new favorite of mine is the Instagram profile Homepolish. Their posts and insta-stories are such eye-candy. They make me drool every. single. day.

So on my list right now is:

A rug.
A huge cactus.
New covers for the sofa pillows + a new blanket.
A floor lamp.
Side table for sofa.
A bigger glass top for our dining table.
Art.
New coffee table.

Have any of you guys recently moved? Any interior wishes? Let me know in the comments below. I would love some inspo.

Ps. If anyone knows where the lamp on my collage is from please shout out in the comments. I just randomly found it on Pinterest, but don’t know where it’s from.

Getting ready for christmas

img_0824It’s happening! I officially started decorating the house for Christmas. I wasn’t quite sure if it was okay to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, and since we’re having guests over at our house this year I had a little sit down with Edward’s mom to figure out this big question of mine. And I got my answer. The one I was hoping! So today I hung up the Christmas wreath on our front door. That’ll bring our neighbors joy too, I put up all the Christmas candles I’ve been collecting (I bought the nicest Nest candle at a sample sale last week, and I must admit I also went a little crazy in Target’s Christmas section.. Wups!), and then I set up the mini Christmas tree in the hallway. I also brought our the Christmas box (which was buried deep down in the closet), but it mostly has ornaments for the tree, so I might have to go shopping a little bit (too bad!! hehe). I definitely wouldn’t mind adding the below to my collection:

CHRISTMAS IS MOVING IN

graces-teaware2

I?ve spent all weekend getting ready for December decorating the house, treating myself a festive manicure, and watching non-stop Christmas movies on Lifetime. Sunday I went shopping for a few festive bits to complete the decorations, and fell in love with this Christmas-y teaware from Grace’s Teaware. I seriously debated whether or not to buy them (after all I’ll probably only use them in December), but my “hygge”-gene won in this case, and therefore you can find me drinking my morning coffee/evening tea from these cuties.

Anybody want to come over for coffee/tea/hot cocoa/you name it?
